Section A
News Report One
原文:The World Health Organization has warned that the number of malaria cases worldwide has risen for the first time in five years. According to the latest data, there were 241 million cases of malaria in 2021, up from 227 million in 2020. This increase has been attributed to a combination of factors, including climate change, which has led to more favorable conditions for mosquitoes to breed and spread the disease. Dr. Pedro Alonso, the director of the WHO's Global Malaria Program, said, "We are deeply concerned about this reversal in progress. Malaria is still a major public health challenge, and we must redouble our efforts to control and eventually eliminate it."

答案
The woman says the disadvantage of working from home is isolation.
The man says the lack of inspiration or stimulation is counter-productive to getting work done in the library.
The woman likes the noise, the people, the busyness of a café and the sense of being out in the world when doing one’s work in a café.
According to the woman, the most annoying thing for café owners is those people, usually only two of them, who occupy a table for six with their laptops and paperwork.
解析在对话中,女士提到“I find an isolation challenging at times”,意思是她觉得有时在家办公的隔离状态很有挑战性,即在家办公的缺点是会有隔离感。

听力原文:America was built by waves of immigrants, and immigrants continue to contribute to the country to this day—statistics prove it.
In two key indicators of financial performance, immigrants outperform native-born Americans.
First, they are more likely to be entrepreneurs. From 1996 to 2016, immigrants started businesses at twice the rate of native-born Americans. Immigrants are not only more frequently entrepreneurs. They are also often more successful. Over 40 percent of Fortune 500 companies were founded by either immigrants or children of immigrants.
Another key indicator of financial strength is debt levels. And in this area, immigrants do even better. Immigrants use less credit when purchasing cars, houses, or starting businesses. This results in significantly lower debt levels than those born in the United States. For example, 34 percent of Latin American-born Americans reported having no credit card or installment loan debt. In contrast, the population average is only 19 percent.
Why do immigrants perform so well? Some of the success can be explained by the values and habits they bring from their home countries.
Unemployment rates tend to be higher in developing countries. This means more people have to go into business. Most developing countries also have less access to credit. This means individuals must save more to achieve their goals, or they will borrow from friends and family instead of banks. This means less debt and likely better credit performance when they come to the United States.
